Hey sisters, when was the last time you had some self care? I mean really took time just for yourself and took care of your mental, physical and emotional health. With so much going on in our lives we sometimes get overwhelmed, overworked and forget about that 5 minutes we owe to ourselves to just breathe. Self care is actually one of the most overlooked activities, studies show that self care helps with improving your mood and it reduces anxiety.
While some maybe self care queens, there are quite a few of us that wouldn’t even know where to begin. It’s pretty simple actually, the key to self care is doing activities that put you in a feel good mood, or that physically benefits your holistic well-being. These activities include developing a regular sleeping routine, a healthy diet, taking lunch breaks, taking walks and using your sick leaves.
While all these are activities you can include in your daily routine, there are also leisure self care activities to practice. One of my favorites is beauty. I feel that after I’ve pampered myself I love myself more, I smell great, my skin is moisturized and I feel beautiful. Not only does this help with my physical appearance but it improves my self image and gives me confidence. A well groomed body and a healthy mind is a combination fit for a queen. Here are a few self care ideas you can try.
We all have our own preferences, there is no right or wrong way to self care. It has all to do with you and what makes you feel good. So if you feel like your go to self care activity is going to the gym, then go for it. Remember this is something you are doing for yourself.
