The sudden explosion of COVID 19 globally, has hugely impacted on the education sector worldwide.  In an attempt to contain the pandemic, schools, universities, all learning institutions and platforms were legislated to temporary close schools. Re-opening of most schools still remains a confused, scary and enormous issue due to the no show of PPE items for the faculty and the learners prior to re-opening of schools

Parents, unions and politically parties have raised numerous concerns especially directed to the Department of Education that they are not confident that the schools will be a safe and protected environment for their children during the high rise of the pandemic.  The Minister have briefed the nation on several occasions about the Recovery Plan that will be approached but unfortunately the Gazetted principles were not met timeously, adding more doubt, confusion and concern to the parents. 

At MILC, we fully understand parents’ concerns about the large classrooms, the shortage of teachers and classrooms, the challenges with teachers managing the COVID 19 health and safety protocols, the shortage of PPEs in schools and classrooms and the fact that children can forget to keep themselves safe from contacting the pandemic.  Many parents are also not sure of the home-schooling process should they decide to keep their children at home for the remaining academic 2020 year.  We also took cognizance of the fact that parents are not keen to lose the 2020 academic year but at the same time keep their children’s health and safety a priority.

MILC are proud to be the fore runners in innovative home schooling support, we have been working closely and supporting the Home schooling community for the past 5 years.  During this period, we have gained sufficient experience understanding the different pillars that talk to learners that are being home schooled.  Our valued experience and knowledge have greatly benefited our learners to keep abreast with the term’s syllabus, which will enable our learners to complete the academic year comfortable and be promoted to the next grade in 2021.
